We all came in here thinking it was going to be a rough one with the conditions, but it turned out to be a pretty good race track. We had one of the most consistent cars throughout qualifying, and even got some bonus points out of it too. Going into tomorrow, even though we're back in that lucky No. 7 spot again, I feel pretty hopeful. We've got a really good setup for the heat.

Race Recap:
For the fourth time in the past five events, Alexis DeJoria raced her way to a top-half qualifying spot this weekend at the Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals.

As the No. 7 qualifier, DeJoria was positioned to race her 10th qualified teammate, J.R. Todd, in the first round of eliminations on race day.

In the battle of the Kalitta Motorsports Toyota Camrys, both cars made respectable runs in the three-second zone, but unfortunately, Todd was able to power his Camry across the finish line first, ending DeJoria’s day.

We're in the show, seventh place, which is our usual spot lately. We do have lane choice tomorrow, but unfortunately, it's against our teammate J.R. We really need this round win. We usually do pretty well out here in Sonoma so we're hoping we get the same luck and go some rounds.

Team Patrón started off the weekend in the Mile High City with a solid 4.010 run, but struggled with the challenges that come with racing 6,000-feet above sea level throughout the remainder of qualifying.

The Nicky Boninfante and Tommy DeLago-lead team qualified 11th for race day, pitting Alexis DeJoria against Jack Beckman in round one of eliminations. The Patrón Camry ran a competitive 4.056, but despite outrunning 11 of the 16 first round contenders, came up short against Beckman’s 4.027.

Not a great start to the Western Swing, but there’s still two races left to make up some points on this three-race stretch. We did make two good runs up here on the mountain, considering the high elevation and the heat, so we can walk away pleased with that. Obviously, we wanted to win, but it didn’t happen today. We’re all looking forward to our next race in Sonoma. NHRA Countdown to the Championship Points Standing:

Qualifying has been trying this weekend here in Denver. The first run we made got us up there and in the show, which was good. We were just trying to chase it after that but it never worked out. As I've said before, when it comes to race days, my team has always got something in the works. I'm not concerned whatsoever. I've got total faith in the guys and I think it's anybody's race tomorrow.
